I like to play with older computer systems. My interest in vintage computing sorta extends to hardware and software built for obscure applications as a whole, but much of what I play with is older.
There's no reason we can't keep having vastly different and strange computing platforms, so why stop poking at some stuff from the past and seeing what you can teach it to do?
Older systems were often made for, or otherwise pretty damn good at, specific tasks. Why stop using them for such just because we can have catch-all devices at the cost of our own privacy? I also just like them, and they look cool.
